Yarmouth (1959) under construction.
A 4¼x3¼ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is on a crane to port of the head of the berth looking down, aft and to starboard showing the ship taking shape on the building blocks. The hull from station 2½ to the stern is almost complete except that the side plating from stations 2½ to 7 on the port side and from stations 2½ to 15 on the starboard side is only up to number 4 deck level. Scaffolding has been erected outside the hull from station 5 aft. On the adjoining berth in the background is the tanker Lincoln (1958), yard number 707, very near launching stage in her construction. A vertical format image.
