A 3½x4¾ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is on a crane on the port side of the berth amidships looking down, aft and to starboard at the after part of the ship. The hull and deck plating, including the 01 deck, is complete. A large number of gas cylinders are on number 1 deck in the region of 44 to 46 stations and a man is welding on 01 deck. Everything forward of station 33 is out of the picture. Scaffolding has been erected outside the hull. On the berth in the background is the hull of the cargo liner Clan Macindoe (1959), yard number 712, taking shape.
