A formal portrait of three men standing in conversation in the John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank on the day of the launch of the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) from her building berth in the East Yard. The man on the left of the picture is Sir James McFadyen McNeill, the Managing Director of John Brown & Co Ltd. He is holding a rolled umbrella and is wearing an overcoat and bowler hat. A Royal Navy admiral is in the centre and the man on the right wearing a suit, company tie and bowler hat is John Rannie, the Shipyard Director.
