Yarmouth (1959) in the fitting out basin.
A 2¼ square roll film negative. The forward part of the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) from high on a crane alongside the east side of the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is looking down, to port and slightly forward showing the starboard side of the ship from station 49. A pontoon is alongside at about station 35. A large hole has been cut in the foredeck between stations 7 and 11 for the installation of the port Davey Paxman diesel generator. Everything aft of station 49 is out of the picture. The dock engineers shop with the plumbers shop behind it are on the quay. A new 60 ton Arrol crane is being erected by the side of a berth in which the bottom plates of the tanker Kent (1960), yard number 708, have been laid. The well advanced tanker British Queen (1959), yard number 704, is on the far berth. Dalmuir is in the distance.
