A port side view of the Anchor Line cruise ship Caledonia (1925) stopped in open water in the Arabian Sea or Indian Ocean
A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the Anchor Line cruise ship Caledonia (1925) stopped in open water at an unknown location but probably in the Arabian Sea or the Indian Ocean, as a two-masted lateen-rigged trading ship (Kotia?) can be seen in the far distance off her stern. She may be at anchor but is not displaying the anchor ball daymark from the forestay. She is dressed overall, an accommodation ladder is rigged at a port side shell door and a tender is in attendance.
The Caledonia began seasonal cruises from 1930 to September 1939 when she was converted to an Armed Merchant Cruiser and renamed HMS Scotstoun.
