A port bow view of the White Star Line cruise ship Calgaric (1918) at anchor in an unknown location.
A port bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the White Star Line cruise ship Calgaric (1918) at anchor at an unknown location but probably in Scandinavian waters. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has bunting at her foremast and mainmast. Two sets of boat davits are swung out over the side where the boats have been launched and one of her boats is alongside the aft accommodation ladder.
The Calgaric undertook eight cruises in Scandinavian waters between 1928 and 1933 and she was used for a cruise to the Baltic and North Sea by the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides under Lord Baden Powell, the so-called Peace Cruise of the Boy Scout movement, 12-29 August, 1933.
