The photographer is looking forward and down from the starboard side of the foremast upper platform. In the right foreground are the No. 6 air treatment unit, a 20 inch signalling projector and a 2 inch rocket flare launcher, all covered in canvas. The Mark 6M director is overlooking the gunnery direction officer's platform above the bridge, with the starboard air lookouts positions next to it. The 10 inch signalling projector, azimuth repeater and TAS sight are in the starboard bridge wing. All of the instruments and equipment have canvas covers. In the upper right corner is an open fan exhaust vent.
