Yarmouth (1959) on board views on completion.

A half plate sheet film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the south-east corner of the fitting out basin in John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. In the gunbay on 2 deck between 20½ and 25½ stations. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from the port side showing bays 14, 15, 16 and 1. Bay 14 is vacant, in bay 15 is the shell hoist, bay 15 contains an 8 way power panel and bay 1 has a cartridge ready use locker. The shell and cartridge troughs encircle the gun turret revolving platform on the right. The shell hoist in bay 15 has a telegraph system with six positions: stop loading, unload, H.E.V.T. (high explosive variable time or proximity fuze), H.E.D.A. (high explosive direct-action or contact fuze), H.E.T.M. (high explosive time fuze) and star (starshell).
