A slightly distant port quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the White Star Line cruise ship Calgaric (1918) at anchor in Naeroyfjord off Gudvangen, Norway. She has bunting at her foremast and mainmast and two of her boats are missing from their davits. Mountains are in the background. The ship is very slightly out of focus.
The Calgaric undertook eight cruises in Scandinavian waters between 1928 and 1933 and she was used for a cruise to the Baltic and North Sea by the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides under Lord Baden Powell, the so-called Peace Cruise of the Boy Scout movement, 12-29 August, 1933.
