A starboard bow view of the Anchor Line cruise ship California (1923) alongside Pier 6 at Colon, Panama.
A starboard bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of the Anchor Line cruise ship California (1923) alongside Pier 6 at Colon, Panama. Moored behind it is one of three passenger/cargo sister-ships owned by Elders & Fyffes, the Cavina (1924), Carare (1925) or Ariguani (1926), which were employed on voyages between the United Kingdom and the Caribbean in the 1930s. On the far side of Pier 6 is a single funnelled passenger/cargo ship with a black-topped funnel and she is dressed overall. All three of these ships are flying the United States of America courtesy flag at the foremast. On the extreme left is part of the port side of an unidentified single-decked cargo ship.
