A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the P.Os mess on the starboard side of 2 deck between 16 and 21½ stations. The photographer is looking aft and to starboard from near the door showing a twin bunk against the aft bulkhead and a settee berth with a cupboard above it against the ship's side. A new dresser unit, still covered in polythene, is in the right foreground. Two easy chairs and two coffee tables are in the centre of the mess. An Observer magazine is on one of the tables. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
