A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the main communication office on the starboard side of 2 deck between 32½ and 35 stations. The photographer is looking aft from the port side showing the senior ratings work station. A duplicating machine is in the foreground with wire basket trays, the Night Order Book and a calender showing Wednesday May 10 above the desk. On the desk is a very full ashtray. The Watch Board, a battery charger and a range of control and switch panels are on the aft bulkhead. Power units and cable connections are on the right. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972. All of the photographic prints from this series of negatives are date-stamped 8 May 1972 by the Devonport Photographic and Reproduction Services Unit.
