A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 19 and 23 stations. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the mess showing a 3 tier bunk unit rigged for sitting on the left and 3 tier bunk units rigged for sleeping on the right. On the aft bulkhead are a stack of suitcase lockers and a fan ventilation unit. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
