A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 19 and 23 stations. The photographer is looking to starboard from the centre of the mess showing a 3 tier bunk unit rigged for sitting on the left. On the ship's side are two suitcase lockers with a bookshelf above, kit lockers, tea and bread lockers and an high level ventilation unit. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
