A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 23 and 27 stations. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from to starboard of the centreline near the aft end of the mess showing kit and greatcoat lockers on the right. Two kit lockers are against the side of the ship with, on either side, a 3 tier bunk unit rigged for sitting. The kit lockers have three coat hooks and a waste bin fixed to the side. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
