A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 27 and 31 stations. The photographer is looking forward and slightly to starboard from the starboard side of the mess showing a 2 tier bunk unit rigged for sitting on the left. Kit lockers, a tannoy and a fan ventilation unit are on the forward bulkhead 27. Suitcase lockers are on the right. An electric fire is on a pillar in the foreground.
