A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the conversion machinery room on the starboard side of 3 deck between 31 and 35½ stations. The photographer is looking into the starboard forward corner from near the centre of the room showing a dual output motor generator mounted on deck in the left foreground. Next to it is the director metadyne and an electric motor. On the forward bulkhead are a choke unit, rectifier and transformer. On the starboard side are two large rectifier units. A telephone is in the right foreground. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
