A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 57 and 62½ stations. The photographer is looking aft on the port side towards a watertight door leading into a lobby. Suitcase lockers and a folding ironing board are on the left and a row of coathooks is on the right. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972. A vertical format negative.
