A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 57 and 62½ stations. The photographer is looking aft and to port from just to port of the centreline showing a triple tier bunk on the left and another on the right. On the extreme right are kit lockers and an oiltight scuttle is in the deck. Kit lockers, a fan ventilation unit and an electric fire are on the aft bulkhead. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972. A vertical format negative.
