A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 68 and 75 stations. The photographer is looking aft on the port side of the mess showing two rows a triple tier bunk units rigged for sleeping with just one rigged for sitting. A stack of mess lockers and a fan ventilation unit are on the aft bulkhead. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
