A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 68 and 75 stations. The photographer is looking to starboard from the near the centreline at the forward end of the mess showing kit lockers on the right and greatcoat lockers with coat hooks above on the left. A watertight hatch leading down to store rooms on 4 deck is in the foreground and a Nu-swift water fire extinguisher is by the side of the hatch. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972. A vertical format negative.
