A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the engineers' workshop on the starboard side of 2 deck between 46 and 49 stations. The photographer is looking to starboard from the forward end of the workshop showing, on the left, a work bench equipped with three vices and with drawers and cupboards under. A rack of pigeon holes is on the right. A fan ventilation unit and a grinding machine are on the ship's side. Personal tool chests are on the deck. A watertight scuttle leading down to the boiler room is close to the ship's side. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972. A vertical format negative.
