Rhyl (1959). In the C.P.Os mess on 2 deck.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the C.P.Os mess on the starboard side of 2 deck between 61½ and 67 stations. The photographer is looking forward from the aft bulkhead on the port side of the mess showing the lounge area. Settee benches are on either side and a coffee table has two ashtrays and a plate on it. Two easy chairs are in the centre with an home made brass pedestal ashtray in the foreground. An Electrolux refrigerator is in the corner with letter racks above it and to the side. Coat hooks and a hanging rail are on the forward bulkhead which is marked '2L1 62½' but the Admiralty plan shows the sickbay bulkhead to be at station 61½. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
