Rhyl (1959). In the wardroom on 2 deck.
A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the wardroom on the starboard side of 2 deck between 35 and 41 stations. The photographer is looking forward and to port from the centre of the wardroom showing the dark cloth covered table pointing to the corner with five floral covered chairs alongside it. A televison set is on the shelf on the forward bulkhead and inboard of it are framed photographs of H.M. Queen Elizabeth and H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh, the duke being in the uniform of an Admiral of the Fleet. Potted plants are also on this shelf. A cupboard unit is against the inboard bulkhead with a heated coffee pots stand, a jug of milk and clean cups and saucers on it. A fan ventilation unit is under the deckhead in the corner. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
