A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. The photographer is on the forecastle looking forward from the roof the the 4.5 inch gun turret showing the arrangement of the anchor cables, hawse holes and the twin-headed steam capstan. Cases of Whitbread Pale Ale are on deck in the foreground. The Ministry of Public Building & Works twin screw hopper barge St Bees (1968), pendant W36, is working alongside a grab dredger just ahead of the Rhyl's bow.
