Hermes (1953). A small scullery area during conversion.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is below decks in a small scullery area. A large stainless steel sink is set in the worktop on the right. The worktop against the end bulkhead has plates, dishes, a roll of paper towel, a four section wire basket and an hot water cylinder on it and on the shelves below are large bottles of Crosse & Blackwell brown sauce. There is a hatch at the end of the worktop in the corner. The photographer has allocated the number 3 to this location. A vertical format negative.
