A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the galley preparing space on the port side of 4 deck between 33 and 39 stations showing a butchers block with duck boards on it and shelves below. A ready use cool cupboard is behind the butchers block with the door in the corner. A framed notice on the end bulkhead is headed 'Safety precautions in operation of galley equipment'. A milk churn is on the deck. The photographer has allocated the number 7 to this location.
