A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main galley and servery on 4 deck between 30 and 39 stations looking in the pot wash area with stacks of roasting tins, pots, ladles and cutlery baskets on shelves and worktops. Up the step is the main galley with a mixer and mincing machine on the left. The photographer has allocated the number 8 to this location. A vertical format negative.
