A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main galley and servery on 4 deck between 30 and 39 stations. A corner of the space showing a worktop with drawers, a cupboard and shelves under. Two milk churns are on the worktop and a fire extinguisher is on the floor. A framed notice is on the right bulkhead, headed 'Electric cooking equipment instructions for use'. The photographer has allocated the number 8 to this location. A vertical format negative.
