A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main galley and servery on 4 deck between 30 and 39 stations, showing a plate counter and serving hatch on the left. The roller shutter is closed. On the right are a range of shallow fryers and a fire extinguisher with two automatic emergency lanterns and a paper towel roll beyond. Two large roasting ovens are in the background. The photographer has allocated the number 8 to this location.
