A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in a narrow passageway in a food and drink area, possibly the wardroom pantry, on 4 deck, showing a serving counter on the right with plate storage bins in the foreground. On the left is another counter with cupboards and drawers under. In the background up a few steps is a large hot water cylinder with a hood over it. The photographer has allocated the number 9 to this location. A vertical format negative.
