A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in a food and drink area with a tile covered deck, possibly the wardroom pantry, on 4 deck. He is looking towards an arched doorway showing three Prestcold refrigerators on the left. On the bulkhead is a noticeboard with a 12 month calendar on it. A hand written 'No smoking' notice is taped to the top of the bulkhead. On the right is a small two section electric range. The photographer has allocated the number 9 to this location. A vertical format negative.
