A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in a food and drink area with a tile covered deck, possibly the wardroom pantry, on 4 deck, showing a stainless steel worktop with drawers and cup racks under and a shelf and plate racks above. A dumb waiter trunked hoist with a drop down shelf is on the left with a telephone mounted on the side of it. A hand written 'No smoking' notice is taped to the top left corner of the trunk. The photographer has allocated the number 9 to this location.
