A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the wardroom galley and preparation space on 2 deck between 207 and 224 stations. He is looking to port and slightly aft in the forward end of the preparation space showing an Hobart potato peeler and a Crypto Peerless chipper on the left. Oagainst the inboard bulkhead is a Lec ice cream hardening cabinet, an ice cream machine, a a stainless steel bench with a cupboard for storing ice cream equipment, a nest of drawers and three shelves. On top of the bench is a gravity feed slicer. The photographer has allocated the number 11 to this location.
