A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the wardroom galley and preparation space on 2 deck between 207 and 224 stations. He is looking to starboard and aft from the centre of the galley showing No. 1 cooking range on the extreme left, the door to the wardroom galley store in the centre and the plenum chamber on the right with a control panel under the deckhead. On the end of the plenum chamber is a framed notice about 'electric cooking equipment instructions for use'. The photographer has allocated the number 11 to this location. A vertical format negative.
