Hermes (1953). The P.Os. recreation space on 2 deck during conversion.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the P.Os recreation space on 2 deck between stations 12½ and 27. He is looking aft and to starboard into the corner in the large lounge area showing a continuous settee bench. An open cupboard is above the bench in the corner and to the right of it is a framed map with heraldic shields. A pillar is in the centre of the compartment.
