A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the P.Os. recreation space on 2 deck between stations 12½ and 27. He is looking forward and to starboard towards the doorway in the large lounge area showing settee benches to left and right of the door. An automatic emergency lantern and a notice board are to the right of the door. A pillar is in the centre of the compartment.
