Hermes (1953). In the bakery on 5 deck during conversion.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the bakery on the port side of 5 deck between 20 and 30 stations. He is looking forward and to port from the starboard side across the centre of the bakery. In the foreground are two bulk dough transfer trollies in close proximity to a large mixing machine (with 127 on the cover). In the left foreground is a damaged wooden tub standing in a metal container. In the left background is a Mono Universal machine on the end of a worktop and beyond it is a desk with a bookshelf above it.
