Hermes (1953). In the bakery on 5 deck during conversion.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the bakery on the port side of 5 deck between 20 and 30 stations. He is looking to port and forward from the starboard side across the centre of the bakery. In the foreground is a damaged wooden tub standing in a metal container and two bulk dough transfer trollies. On a stainless steel worktop in the background are a batch of pies, a basin with a pastry brush in it, a few tins and a Mono Universal machine. Against the forward bulkhead is a desk with a bookshelf above it.
