A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the ship operations room on 01 deck between 87 and 100 stations. The photographer is looking to starboard at four visual display units, a speed indicator and a large number of other electrical and electronic instruments. On the left is a vacant table space with two electrical units above it and a reel of cable on the deck under it. A state board with a hinged cover is on the extreme left. Negatives numbers PM3109/5, PM3109/6, PM3109/7, PM3109/8 and PM3109/9 were taken in sequence along the same bulkhead.
