A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the ship operations room on 01 deck between 87 and 100 stations. The photographer is looking to starboard and slightly forward at an ARL Mk VIII plotting table covered with taped down cardboard or hardboard with communications units on the bulkhead behind it. A notice board fitted with four bulldog clips, a combination safe and a telephone are on a screen bulkhead next to the plotting table. On the left is a door leading to the L/Cdr Ops Annexe and in the left background is the door leading out to the bridge wing. Negatives numbers PM3109/5, PM3109/6, PM3109/7, PM3109/8 and PM3109/9 were taken in sequence along the same bulkhead.
