A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the ship operations room on 01 deck between 87 and 100 stations. The photographer is looking forward and to port at a communications desk fitted with a morse key and with a fleet disposition board and Opgen 'A' state board above it. On the bulkhead at the end of the desk is a large switchboard unit. Other control boxes and electrical units are on the port bulkhead.
