A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the ship operations room on 01 deck between 87 and 100 stations. The photographer is looking aft and slightly to port showing a large console on the port bulkhead and five JHA display consoles in the foreground. In the right background is the door to the main communication office (lower level) with a stateboard fixed to it and another stateboard is to the right of the door. Various range and bearing indicator units are fixed to the deckhead. A cupboard, junction box and teleprinter are against the aft bulkhead and a stateboard is above the teleprinter.
