A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the switchboard room on 5 deck between stations 150 and 159¾. He is looking forward from near the door showing two telephone control boxes and four telephones on the left with a tannoy above. Indicating panels are in the centre with a fire extinguisher just beyond them. A man is making notes at the switchboard on the right. Negatives numbers PM3113/31, PM3113/32 and PM3113/33 were all taken in the same compartment.
