A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main communications office (lower) on 01 deck between 100 and 109 stations. He is looking aft and to starboard from the forward end of the room showing a desk with a drawer and shelves under. On the desk are two telephones and a four bay switchboard unit and a speaking tube is above it. Three combination safes are on the starboard bulkhead with two telephones and some control boxes above them.
