A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main communications office (lower) on 01 deck between 100 and 109 stations. He is looking aft and to port from the port side centre of the room showing a four bays containing eight Power Equipment Company Powquip teleprinters. Near the aft bulkhead is the ladder leading up to the M.C.O. (upper) level. An automatic emergency lantern is by the side of the door.
