A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main communications office (lower) on 01 deck between 100 and 109 stations. He is looking aft and to port from near the aft end of the room showing a bay containing two Power Equipment Company Powquip teleprinters on the right. On the left is the ladder leading up to the M.C.O. (upper) level with the door leading aft next to it. A transmitter junction box and two fire extinguishers are on the port bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
