A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in an unidentified communications receiving room on the starboard side of the ship near stations 96 and 112 (Zone K) in the island superstructure. The photographer is looking towards the door showing a B40 receiver unit above a desk fitted with a morse key. A covered stateboard is above a desk equipped with a transmitter and microphone. An automatic emergency lantern and two fire extinguishers are by the side of the door.
