A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in an unidentified communications receiving room on the starboard side of the ship near stations 96 and 112 (Zone K) in the island superstructure. In the left foreground is receiver outfit CAY No. 4 and a desk with various communications units. A covered stateboard is on the side screen. On the right are a swivel chair, a desk with a B40 receiver unit and another desk with a covered stateboard above it.
