A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in one of the 15 commando group other ranks messes on 4 deck between stations 96 and 177, showing a three tier bunk unit on the extreme right. A cupboard is on the left and four large steel units, each with two lifting handles at the end, are on the deck. Kit lockers, a watertight hatch and three tier bunks are in the background.
